A warm welcome to everyone visiting us for our site's launch. We're so glad you could join us! This time of year is perfect to kick off a new project. Here in the Rocky Mountains of the United States, the air is finally fresh and cool. As the Wheel turns into another spiritual New Year, it's the perfect time for us to kick off this brand new site.
We've spent months compiling information from across the web to bring as many pagan parenting sites together as possible, into one comprehensive resource. This has been a roller coast of emotions. I have emailed literally thousands of people - but unfortunately, at this point, only hundreds have replied. Many email addresses are dead, many listings are outdated, many links are broken. I have been disappointed time and again when the author of a promising page seems to have vanished into thin air. But I've also met many dozens of wonderful, fascinating, passionate individuals who were excited about the Pagan Parenting project, and offered to contribute their voices, time, and talents to make this site work. I thank them profusely at this point, and ask that anyone else who would like to contribute in any way - offering articles, photos, poems, recipes - whatever would be of use to another pagan parent!
You can also support us by telling us what you have to offer to the community. Do you offer childcare? Do you attend a great, family-friendly church or circle? Do you know any first-rate doulas or midwives that are pagan friendly? Do you know of any scholarships, homeschooling curriculums, or summer camps for pagan children? Do you know of any pagan travel opportunities, know of any little shops - or perhaps you hand-make pagan children's items yourself? Are there any amazing local nature parks where The Great Mother's power just shines? Rack your brains, browse our directories, and see if they'll jolt your memories. It's only through working and sharing together that we can make this a truly comprehensive resource - so let us know what you want to see!
This site is not now complete, and probably won't be - ever! We will constantly be adding new items to our directories, media reviews, and articles pages, and each month we will have a new front page, complete with community spotlight interviews, seasonal items of interest, and a pilgrimage of the month, to start off with. While you're waiting for next month's edition, check out our forums for some friendly conversation - just keep it polite, please!
And most of all, please have fun and enjoy the site! Let's really create a community of pagan parents who really shares in the same goals of raising healthy, well-rounded children, and a new generation of people who just may grow up to be pagans themselves. May you and your family enjoy the blessings of this holy season of renewal.
Bright blessings,
PaganParenting.Org
